Report: Liam Keen issues Ladislav Krejčí to Wolves update as one thing is raised in…

A deal for Ladislav Krejčí is well and truly underway as Vitor Pereira looks to bolster his defensive options for the upcoming season.

Wolves have been dealt multiple transfer blows lately, so to get another deal over the line will come much to the pleasure of the manager.

While many fans will think the attacking options are the priority, when searching for deals in that area of the pitch, Fosun can still work on other aspects of the squad.

And that is exactly what Wolves have done with Krejčí. The player has a £26 million release clause and it has been revealed what the club plan to do with it.

Wolves hoping to pay less than £26m Ladislav Krejčí release clause

On Wednesday night, Ladislav Krejčí emerged as Wolves’ top target for centre-back cover, and ever since, updates on the deal have been swiftly releasing.

First, it was said that Wolves were serious about moving for the Czech international, and not long after, reports said Wolves’ £26 million offer would be accepted.

However, it has now come out that the Old Gold are expecting to reduce the cost of Krejčí by negotiating a fee below his £26 million release clause, according to the Express and Star.

Personal terms don’t appear to be an issue, as the report says that the Girona defender is “keen on the move”.

The Girona defender has been at the club for just over a year, and he isn’t the only La Liga player Wolves are eyeing.

What kind of player is Ladislav Krejčí?

Ladislav Krejčí is a player who is confident playing the ball, likely helped by his time as a midfielder at Sparta Praha.

He ranks highly amongst other ball-playing centre-backs and is proficient at playing forward passes and balls into the final third.

Coming in at 6’3”, the Czech has excellent physical attributes and will bring leadership qualities alongside his talents.

As a two-time league-winning captain with Sparta Praha, Krejčí knows what it takes to win, and his experience against high-level opposition in the Champions League will only serve the player and Wolves down the line.
