Man United Loan Watch

Manchester United have sent many players out on loan for the 25/26 season to develop them with the goal of eventually integrating them into the first team or to help them rediscover their form.

Players have been sent to a series of leagues, including the lower divisions of English football, but also abroad, to La Liga.

Here is how some of Manchester United's loanees are faring so far this season.

Marcus Rashford

Certainly the most high-profile Manchester United loanee, the Englishman secured a move to La Liga to play for reigning champions FC Barcelona after a tough couple of seasons in Manchester.

The season has only just begun in Spain, but Rashford did have some joy for his new team in pre-season. He got off the mark in a 5-0 win over Daegu FC, before providing the assist for Raphina in another 5-0 victory, this time over Como.

The 27-year-old did not start for Barcelona in the first competitive game of the season against Mallorca, in which his side prevailed as 3-0 winners. He came off the bench, playing the final 22 minutes of the match.

He did not have much of an impact in proceedings, especially offensively, as he failed to threaten the goal. The winger created a couple of decent chances, but ultimately nothing emerged from them.

A mixed start to life in Spain for Rashford, who really needs a good season to reignite his career.

Radek Vitek

Things are going well for Radek Vitek so far in his time at Bristol City. The young goalkeeper has arguably enjoyed the best start to a loan spell of all the Manchester United loanees so far.

The 21-year-old has played the maximum minutes for the Robins so far, appearing in both Championship fixtures against Sheffield United and Charlton Athletic, respectively.

In these two matches, he has conceded the solitary goal and has averaged a save percentage of 89% which puts him amongst the best in the league up to this point.

He was a standout player for Bristol City in their 4-1 victory over Sheffield United in their opening match of the Championship season. He made five saves to keep the score heavy in his side's favour.

It's been a good start to life down south for Vitek, who will be hoping to continue this form.

Ethan Wheatley

On the other side of things, Ethan Wheatley has endured a tough start to his loan spell at Northampton Town. Despite starting in all four League One matches for the Cobblers so far, the striker has yet to make an impact.

In 346 minutes of football, Ethan Wheatley has only managed two shots, with neither of these finding the back of the net. It is not just the striker struggling, as Northampton as a whole have not been at their best, currently sitting in the relegation zone.

The 19-year-old will be looking to turn his fortunes around quickly here to enjoy a successful loan spell in the Midlands.

Daniel Gore

It has been a mixed start to life in Rotherham for Dan Gore, who has been heavily involved for the Millers in League One so far this season. The midfielder has started in all three of Rotherham's games in the league up to this point.

Despite getting a lot of game time for the club, Gore has not had as big an impact on games as he would like to have going forward. This may be partly due to the fact that he is being played in a more attacking midfield role than he usually is, further forward from his common central/defensive midfield position.

His best performance came against Port Vale in the opening match of the season, where he looked positive creatively and won the majority of his duels.

Not the worst start to Gore's loan spell, but he will be looking to improve as time goes on.
