Special New Heights tailgate for Chiefs game planned at Power & Light District

Fans pack KC Live! at the Power & Light District for a watch party to see the Chiefs play in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025. Travis Heying The Wichita Eagle

We know where Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will be on Sept. 14.

That’s the day the Chiefs play host to the Philadelphia Eagles in a Super Bowl LIX rematch at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Kelce will play in that game.

Could Kelce’s brother, Jason, be in Kansas City, too? In the past, Jason Kelce has been known to attend Chiefs games to support his brother.

Even if Jason Kelce doesn’t stop in KC that day, he’ll be there in spirit. Well, his podcast will.

The Power & Light District confirmed that a New Heights tailgate event is planned for Sept. 14. It will be at the KC Live! Block and presented by Audible and powered by Wondery.

It would start at 8 a.m., well before kickoff of the Chiefs-Eagles game, which is scheduled for 3:25 p.m.

According to the Power & Light District, the New Heights event will be part of its “Game Day Experience,” which is held when the Chiefs play. There is a $20 cost to attend that event on a typical gameday. You can find more information on the Power & Light website.

The New Heights podcast started in September 2022 when Jason Kelce was still playing for the Philadelphia Eagles. It has become one of the country’s most popular podcasts, according to numbers from Spotify.
