Report: Arsenal hold talks to sign another 'world-class' London-born winger, he wants move

Arsenal have held talks with Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman after his move to Inter Milan collapsed, according to a report from TBR Football.

It's been an interesting summer transfer window for the Gunners, and the drama has continued this week. GIVEMESPORT correspondent Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed that Arsenal have now agreed a deal to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, hijacking Tottenham's move to sign him. The Gunners pulled the trigger after Kai Havertz suffered a knee injury, and they now look set to be their north London rivals to his signature.

Eze would likely come in and compete with Martin Odegaard for the attacking midfielder role under Mikel Arteta, while he could also provide cover on the left-hand side of attack. Signing a specialist left-sided attacker could still be on the agenda, especially if the Gunners want to compete with the likes of Liverpool for the Premier League title once again.

According to a report from TBR Football, Arsenal have held talks with Atalanta winger Lookman after his move to Serie A giants Inter Milan fell through. His representatives have been working on finding him a new club, speaking to a host of sides in the Premier League to try and secure him a move before the end of the summer transfer window.

The London-born winger, who has been described as 'world-class' by BBC reporter John Bennett, was close to joining Inter Milan this summer, that move is suddenly now off the table. It's an ideal opportunity for Arsenal to swoop in, but multiple clubs have also been contacted as his representatives try and find him an alternative destination.

After leaving England to further his career, Lookman has flourished, but it wasn't an easy start to his career. Lookman plied his trade in the Premier League with Everton, Leicester City, and Fulham, but failed to set the world alight and opted to head on to the continent. Since then, Lookman has gone from strength to strength, helpling Atalanta win the Europa League during his time in Italy.

Lookman was also named Africa Footballer of the Year in 2024, beating competition such as Victor Osimhen and Achraf Hakimi, for an award previously won by Yaya Toure and Samuel Eto'o.
