Burnley man “happy to be back home” after sealing exit – Ready to show club his development

Burnley youngster Luca Koleosho has admitted he is happy to be back home at Espanyol after securing a loan move back to the club.

[El 1900](https://el1900.com/luca-koleosho-primeras-declaraciones-espanyol/) cover comments from the Burnley forward today after he completed a season long loan move to the Spanish side.

He’s joined them in search of regular playing time that wasn’t on offer under Scott Parker in the Premier League this season.

The 20-year-old was not a part of Parker’s plans for the campaign and so have returned to his former club this summer, taking advantage of Burnley’s owners, Velocity Sports, taking over the club this year.

They’re effectively now part of a multi-club model, which sped through negotiations for Koleosho to return this summer.

He is a product of Espanyol’s youth set up, coming through their U18s, U19s, and B side before making six appearances in the first team. He joined Burnley in a €3m deal in 2023 and has three goals and two assists in 45 games for them but only managed 15 appearances totalling 986 minutes last season after a knee injury ruled him out from the middle of December.

He’s looking to bounce back in Spain and admits he’s delighted to be back home at his former club.

“I’m very happy to be back,” he said.

“I can show my abilities to this team. I know I’m young; I’m going to turn 21, but as a player, I’m more mature. In one-on-one situations, using my dribbling, my skill, my handling, my speed. I think that’s where I can help the team.

“I’m very well. I completed preseason training with Burnley FC after returning from the U-21 European Championship with Italy. I feel very good physically and I’m ready to start with the group.

“I’m very happy to be back home. I hope this year can be a big and special one.”
