Arsenal have the chance to bring in some more new faces before the end of the window
Arsenal have the opportunity to sign some more players before the end of the window. They have until the deadline on Monday 1st September to conclude any incoming or outgoing bits of business. The Gunners have already had a busy summer on the recruitment front.
Mikel Arteta’s men won 1-0 away at Manchester United in their opening game of the new Premier League season. They will be pleased to have started with an impressive three points at Old Trafford. The London club will be aiming to win the title amid competition from the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.
Arsenal eye Aston Villa ace Morgan Rogers
Arsenal are interested in a move for Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers, according to The Sun. The report claims Unai Emery’s side want a hefty £80million for his signature. He has been a key player since his move to Villa Park and has caught the eye in the Midlands.
Rogers, 23, would be an eye-catching addition for the Gunners if they were able to get him. The England international, who has made six caps so far in his career, has proved he can perform at the top level. He is an exciting talent who is capable of getting fans off their seats.
Aston Villa took a gamble on him when they snapped him up back in 2024. He was playing in the Championship for Middlesbrough when they made the surprise swoop for his services. The ex-Manchester City man hasn’t looked back since and has scored 17 goals in 71 games.
Villa didn’t get into the Champions League in the last campaign which was a big blow for them. They have had to contend with Europa League football for this season. Rogers will want to play at the highest level possible meaning they could face a battle to keep him.
Arsenal should offer Aston Villa swap deal
Aston Villa want to keep hold of Rogers and rightly so, he is one of their main men. However, Arsenal should try and at least test their resolve. They should offer them Leandro Trossard plus cash to snatch Rogers.
Trossard, 30, would be a useful addition for Emery if he got him. He is vastly experienced and is a dependable option. The Belgium international would be a steady addition and could inject some quality into their attacking department.
He currently provides competition and depth to the Gunners’ forward ranks. However, his game time would be limited if they brought in someone of Rogers’ calibre. It would be a surprise to see him stay at the Emirates Stadium if another player in his position came through the entrance door.
Trossard has turned out to be a smart signing by Arsenal after they acquired him from Brighton and Hove Albion. He isn’t getting any younger though and the clock is ticking for them to get some use out of him financially. Using him as part of a swap arrangement to snap up someone like Rogers would be a shrewd move and would likely suit all parties involved.
