Leeds United are up and running in the Premier League with a win this week, which brought multiple Premier League debuts, including one for striker Joel Piroe.
Daniel Farke and his promoted counterparts have the unenviable task of bucking the alarming trend of sides heading straight back to the Championship this season.
Sunderland and his United side, though, made a significant statement in their opening games, Leeds beating Everton 3-0 with eight of their Championship winning side present in the starting XI.

Joel Piroe discusses Leeds United transfer future at PFA awards confirming knocked back approaches
Suited and booted with his teammates at the PFA Awards, Piroe was asked about his situation at Elland Road, having previously opened the door to a possible return to PSV in the distant future.
For now, there is not even an iota of the Dutchman that is considering leaving Elland Road, a view that is also shared by his employers in West Yorkshire too.
“It would be great to return to PSV someday, but not right now. I’m not thinking about leaving, or what’s going on at other clubs,” Piroe said, via VI.nl.
“All I want is to perform with Leeds in the Premier League. I understand that a few other clubs approached me in the summer. But the club didn’t want to let me go, and I don’t want to leave at all.
Joel Piroe’s finishing will be useful this season for Leeds United, and he deserves his shot
There are reservations over whether he’s the best striker to lead the line for Leeds, but having helped fire us to promotion last season, he absolutely deserves this chance.
His stock is high right now and if the money was right, you could see a world where the club consider letting him leave.
That being said, keeping him here is probably the right decision, especially considering he’s got a very good injury record and our other striker options don’t.
His first Premier League goal will be a great sight.
