The Saints reportedly aren't done looking for more talent on offense after making 2 trades

The New Orleans Saints are reportedly in the market to add another running back to their depth chart.

"The Saints want a backup plan if Alvin Kamara, the team's offensive weapon, happens to go down with an injury or needs a breather during a game," The Athletic's Larry Holder wrote.

Holder's reporting was supported by colleague Dianna Russini, who said the Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs are also making calls looking for a running back.

Washington Commanders Brian Robinson Jr. is one reported available option on the market.

Behind Kamara, the current Saints' running back room includes Kendre Miller, Devin Neal, Cam Akers and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Akers and Edwards-Helaire are fan favorites as Akers was a star athlete at Clinton High School in Clinton, Mississippi, and Edwards-Helaire is a Baton Rouge native and Catholic High School graduate who was a part of the 2019 LSU national championship football roster.

This is Aker's fifth team since 2023, and Edwards-Helaire only played in two games in 2024.

Kamara, 30, rushed for a career high 950 yards in 2024 to go along with 543 receiving yards.

On Sunday night, New Orleans traded for center Luke Fortner from the Jacksonville Jaguars. On Wednesday, the Saints traded for wide receiver DeVaughn Vele from the Denver Broncos to a fourth and seventh-round pick.

The Saints host the Broncos at noon on Saturday for the final preseason game of the year.
