Arsenal are now eyeing a move to sign Lyon winger Malick Fofana in the final days of the transfer window, after hijacking Tottenham's move to sign Eberechi Eze, according to L'Equipe.
The Gunners have already had a busy summer window with the arrivals of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera and Viktor Gyokeres, and are now closing in on a move for England international Eze, with a medical scheduled for this week.
However, Mikel Arteta is not done then as he looks to strengthen his forward line further, and Fofana is now being targeted ahead of the September 1st deadline.

Fofana, who has been described as 'explosive', has been expected to leave Lyon all summer as the French side deal with financial issues which have seen them completely refresh their squad, with the likes of Rayan Cherki, Alexandre Lacazette, Nemanja Matic and Lucas Perri all departing.
The Belgian winger has been targeted by the Premier League too, with Everton entering advanced talks with Lyon and the player's camp this summer about a deal, while Nottingham Forest even agreed a deal with the Ligue 1 outfit.
However, the 20-year-old has so far opted against moving to either the Hill Dickinson Stadium or City Ground as he is holding out for Champions League football, and he may now get his wish.
According to L'Equipe, Arsenal and Bayern Munich have both added the winger to their shortlist of options to strengthen their attack in the final days of the window and a deal is seen as possible.
Lyon are demanding a €40m fee (£34.6m) to allow him to depart as they need to raise that amount before the deadline passes. It's believed Lyon manager Paulo Fonseca is desperate to keep him though, as he wants to keep the squad competitive, but the situation may be taken out of his hands.
Arsenal are still trying to move on a number of players this summer including Fabio Vieira, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Oleksandr Zinchenko, so this could be a move that goes down to the wire.
