Manchester United are scanning the transfer market, checking if they can make any final moves to strengthen the squad for the 2025/26 season.
The 2025/26 Premier League season got underway last weekend as Manchester United suffered a 1-0 defeat against Arsenal at Old Trafford.
It has been a busy summer transfer window for the Red Devils thus far, although they have been unable to sell those players considered outcasts after being left out of the squad for pre-season. Those players include Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia.
Meanwhile, United have welcomed four new faces to Ruben Amorim’s squad, with a strong emphasis put on the attacking department. Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko join to create a revamped strike force while Diego Leon arrives to provide competition for Patrick Dorgu at left wing-back.
Now, United are focusing on offloading unwanted players to generate funds for more signings. It is understood that Amorim would like an “athletic” midfielder following a failed approach to sign Carlos Baleba from Brighton. The United head coach also reportedly wants to sign a new goalkeeper, but it remains to be seen if Ineos can get any more deals over the line before deadline day.

Man Utd eye move for Stuttgart ace Angelo Stiller
It seems United will wait until next year to move for Baleba, meaning Amorim may look elsewhere to ensure he strengthens the midfield department this season.
United were guilty of being overrun in midfield by most teams – up and down the league — last season. They cannot afford to let that happen again this time around.
Fresh reports suggest United are targeting Angelo Stiller as a new midfield option this summer.

According to Ben Jacobs, the 24-year-old German midfielder has emerged on United’s list of options.
Right now, however, there is no guarantee anything will materialise from these links as internal discussions take place at Old Trafford.
One of the midfielders on Manchester United's list of options is Stuttgart's Angelo Stiller.

It remains to be seen if United will add to their midfield or sign a new goalkeeper to compete with Andre Onana.
Stiller compared to Toni Kroos
Stiller became a German international in 2024 and has since made four appearances for his country.
After establishing himself as one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga, the Stuttgart star has earned rich comparisons to German football icon Toni Kroos after being tipped as a generational talent.
Kroos, who retired last year, hung up his boots after winning the Champions League six times.
Stiller must be doing something right to be earning comparisons to Kroos.
