Jay Feely, Worth Up to $65M, Brings NFL Riches, Niches to Congress Bid

Jay Feely, the former NFL kicker turned Republican congressional candidate in Arizona, is leveraging his fame and fortune as he mounts a campaign for federal office.

According to financial disclosures filed this week with the House Clerk, Feely reported a net worth between $15.9 million and $65.5 million, alongside 2024 income ranging from $453,000 to $1.52 million. His recent earnings include $220,000 from his role as an NFL analyst for CBS and $35,000 from radio advertisements for Yrefy, a private student loan company.

Feely owns five properties: his personal residence in Gilbert, Ariz., worth $2.5 million based on Zillow estimates, along with four rental homes—two in Arizona and two in Michigan. He also holds seven-figure stakes in two privately held firms: Gevity Health and Klein Tools, along with a $500,000 to $1 million stake in Kumanu, the digital mental health company.

In 2018, Klein Tools was featured in the White House’s “Made in America Product Showcase” during the first Trump administration.

Among his publicly traded holdings, Feely disclosed a $500,000 to $1 million position in Palantir Technologies, the controversial data firm known for its contracts with U.S. immigration authorities and ties to the Trump White House.

Feely also reported that his NFL pension and annuity—each valued between $1 million and $5 million—remain untouched and that he received $2,500 in 2024 appearance fees via NFL Players Inc.

Over his 13-year professional football career (2001–2014), Feely earned $17.5 million in salary (unadjusted for inflation), according to Spotrac. After retiring, he began a broadcasting career as a college football analyst for CBS Sports Network in 2015, before transitioning to NFL commentary for CBS. He held that job until earlier this year, when he announced his run for office.

Feely formally launched his campaign in April 2025, seeking the congressional seat currently held by Republican Rep. Andy Biggs, who is stepping down to run for governor of Arizona. Feely credited divine inspiration and the 2024 assassination attempt on President Donald Trump as the key motivators for entering politics.

By the end of June, Feely had personally loaned $300,000 to his campaign, which has quickly drawn financial support from a who’s who of sports-world notables.

According to FEC filings, his donor list includes four-figure contributions from ex-NFL players Andre Wadsworth, Brian Urlacher, Ken Whisenhunt, Mark Sanchez and Akbar Gbaja-Biamila; NFL commissioner Roger Goodell; team owners Bob Kraft (Patriots), Arthur Blank (Falcons), and Jimmy and Dee Haslam (Browns); executives James and Whitney Johnson of Haslam Sports Group; former NBA star Charles Barkley; former MLB player Tim Salmon; pro golfer Chez Reavie; and Phoenix sports mogul Jerry Colangelo. Feely has also received $10,000 from the NFL’s political action committee, Gridiron PAC.
