Packers’ Receiving Corps Sparks Optimism Ahead of 2025 Kicking Off

The Green Bay Packers have built one of the more exciting young receiving corps in the league, and they could be about to significantly elevate quarterback Jordan Love and the passing game.

One year removed from Jayden Reed finishing as the Packers’ leading receiver with a career-high 55 catches for 857 yards and six touchdowns, in his second season, the Packers broke a longstanding organization trend by selecting Matthew Golden in the first round.

Do Packers Now Have One of the NFL’s Top Wide Receiver Duos?

Despite the fact that Golden and Reed have yet to play a snap together in a regular-season game, CBS Sports NFL analyst Cody Benjamin lists the Packers’ duo as an honorable mention on his preseason list of the top tandems in the league.

“Call them the All-Upside Tandem,” Benjamin writes of the Packers’ pass catchers for CBS. “Reed is electric, and Golden could be the total package. We’ve just got to see them in partnership first.”

For now, the Packers’ top duo is all potential, but the upside is significant both given that Love is at his best in the vertical passing game and that Golden’s speed could create significant opportunities for the likes of Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, and Romeo Doubs thanks to the attention defenses must pay the rookie.

If Golden and Reed have a prolific 2025 season, they could significantly rise up the preseason rankings in 2026.
