Marseille have reportedly identified West Ham United full-back Emerson Palmieri as an alternative option to Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas.
According to Foot Mercato, the Ligue 1 side are considering Tsimikas as a possible target, with the Greece international expected to leave Anfield before the summer transfer deadline.
Tsimikas is behind Milos Kerkez and Andy Robertson in Arne Slot’s squad, and needs to leave if he wants to play regular football this season.
However, the report also claims that Marseille view West Ham’s Emerson as another viable candidate to strengthen their left-back options.
Marseille have already held discussions about Emerson’s situation, although they are yet to decide which target to pursue.
The 31-year-old has entered the final year of his West Ham contract, but there is an option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.
Marseille are keen to bolster their options on the left side of defence following Quentin Merlin’s move to Rennes earlier this summer.

Palace earmark Ordonez as Guehi replacement
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace have reportedly identified Club Brugge defender Joel Ordonez as a potential transfer target.
With Eberechi Eze set to join Arsenal, Palace boss Oliver Glasner will be keen to keep other important members of his squad.
However, there is a possibility that the Eagles could entertain offers for Liverpool-linked Marc Guehi, who has entered the final 12 months of his contract.
Palace appear to be scouring the market for possible replacements in the event Guehi leaves before the summer transfer deadline.
According to The Mirror, the Eagles have placed Club Brugge’s Ordonez on their transfer shortlist of defensive targets.
The report claims that the Belgian club are bracing themselves for Ordonez’s potential exit, despite the fact that he still has three years left to run on his contract.
Palace could face competition if they decide to step up their pursuit of Ordonez, with Bournemouth and Roma believed to be showing an interest.
Marseille are also keen on the Ecuador international and have even reached a verbal agreement over personal terms, but they are finding it difficult to agree a transfer with Club Brugge.
