Manchester United want Tottenham Hotspur to enter the race for Chelsea target Alejandro Garnacho
Manchester United started the new season with high hopes, but a 1-0 loss in the very first match against Arsenal spoiled the atmosphere. The team showed enthusiasm in the first few minutes, but Altay Bayindir’s mistake broke the whole balance, and Riccardo Calafiori scored a goal with a header.
After that, United tried to equalise, new signing Benjamin Sesko was brought on the field, and Bryan Mbeumo created some good chances, but David Raya stopped everything. The result was that the season started with a defeat, and like last year, the series of disappointments continued.
Meanwhile, the club’s transfer window in terms of sales is also dragging on without any concrete results. Ruben Amorim has made up his mind to release many players, but United have not been successful in making the right deal so far. Marcus Rashford has already moved to Barcelona, but one of the real issue now is Alejandro Garnacho.

Manchester United have made it clear to Garnacho that his place is no longer in Amorim’s plans. In a meeting at Carrington in May, Amorim hinted that Garnacho should find a new club. Despite this, the situation has not changed. Chelsea are showing interest, but GMS has reported that United feel that the right price will be received only if Tottenham also join the race again.
According to Give Me Sport, those close to United believe that Chelsea will pay the right amount only if there is another contender in front of them. This is the reason why we want Tottenham to return to the race. Spurs have already looked at the Argentine winger’s situation through intermediaries and tried to understand the terms of the transfer. Now United hope that Tottenham will set their eyes on the 21-year-old after Arsenal won the race for Eberechi Eze.
Meanwhile, Garnacho still has three years left on his contract and is earning £50,000 a week, but Amorim has shown no intention of bringing him back into the team. So United believe Garnacho’s Old Trafford career is over. The question is whether to sell him to Chelsea for a cut-price deal or wait for Tottenham to come back. We earlier reported that the Argentine has agreed on personal terms with the Blues.
United’s path to the Garnacho deal
Manchester United now face a big question. Should the club try to force Tottenham into the deal more aggressively and get Chelsea to agree to a higher price, or should they agree to a deal with Chelsea immediately, even if the price is low, given the pressures of Premier League financial regulations? In OUR opinion, United need Tottenham’s involvement because without competition, Chelsea will never pay the real price.
The other aspect is that Amorim has made it clear that Garnacho is not part of the team. Keeping the player would only increase tensions in the dressing room. Team unity is important, even if that means losing a talented player.
Ultimately, Tottenham’s interest has to be viewed from a strategic perspective. They have lost the race for Eze, and focusing on Garnacho could meet that need, but the risk is that the same controversy that happened at United could happen in London. Still, it would be beneficial for United if Spurs do pull off the deal. Meanwhile, Chelsea will sign Manchester United outcast Alejandro Garnacho on this one condition.
