The Pittsburgh Steelers moved on from one veteran quarterback to another this season.
The Russell Wilson experiment wasn’t that successful, and they hope that Aaron Rodgers will get them back on track.
For Chris Canty, that doesn’t make any sense.
Talking on ESPN’s “First Take,” the former player shared his honest thoughts on Rodgers’ potential to improve the offense, and he believes people are just fooling themselves at this point.
“I don’t believe in [Aaron Rodgers],” Canty said.

Canty argued that even if Rodgers’ regression was due to injuries, he’s not going to get healthier as he gets older.
That makes perfect sense, and given the Steelers’ offensive line woes, there are more than enough reasons to be worried about this team.
Granted, even at this point in his career, Rodgers would still be the best quarterback the Steelers have had since prime Ben Roethlisberger, and the margin isn’t necessarily small.
Then again, the bar isn’t that high.
The Steelers’ decision to pursue D.K. Metcalf and Jalen Ramsey makes it feel like they honestly believe they can make a Super Bowl run this season.
That might as well be the case, but they’re playing with fire here.
Even if they do thrive this season, Rodgers has already said that this will most likely be his final season.
That means they will have to get right back to the drawing board after this season, and they would be better off getting a high draft pick than trying to compete for a ring this season if that’s the case.
