Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris is unlikely to make too many changes to his starting lineup for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Burnley at Turf Moor.
The newly-promoted Black Cats secured a memorable 3-0 opening win over West Ham United last weekend and had to cope without Aji Alese, Luke O'Nien (both shoulder), Leo Hjelde (Achilles), Romaine Mundle (thigh) and Dennis Cirkin (wrist) who all remain sidelined with injuries.
Jenson Seelt is fit to play this weekend after he was forced off injured in the win against West Ham, but Le Bris may opt to hand new signing Omar Alderete his full Premier League debut at centre-back alongside Daniel Ballard, who scored during a stellar individual performance last time out.
Nordi Mukiele, who was unveiled as Sunderland’s latest signing earlier this week, has trained partly with his new teammates along with Arthur Masuaku and a late call will be made on whether either defender will feature in the matchday squad.
Trai Hume and Reinildo Mandava are both poised to continue as full-backs, while a midfield triumvirate of captain Granit Xhaka, Noah Sadiki and Habib Diarra is likely to remain intact.
Eliezer Mayenda and Wilson Isidor both scored against West Ham and will continue to battle each other for the centre-forward spot, with the former set to get the nod once again from the off, while Simon Adingra and Chemsdine Talbi should start again on the flanks.
Sunderland possible starting lineup: Roefs; Hume, Alderete, Balland, Reinaldo; Sadiki, Xhaka, Diarra; Talbi, Mayenda, Adingra
