Manchester United began the new season on a sour note after suffering a 1-0 loss to Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Despite the defeat, Ruben Amorim's team can find some comfort in the encouraging displays from new recruits Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha. All eyes will now be on forward Benjamin Sesko to deliver the goals that have been missing at United for so long.
And many Reds supporters are keeping their fingers crossed for the arrival of a new midfielder and goalkeeper before the summer transfer window closes on September 1. Below are some of the latest United headlines as well as a view on each one.
Inter Milan 'consider' Sancho move
Inter Milan have reportedly joined the race to sign Jadon Sancho. TEAMtalk claim the Italian giants are looking to reinforce their attack before the window closes.
The 25-year-old has been linked with AS Roma recently, but he has yet to complete his move to Italy. Sancho is currently training away from United's first team with the former Borussia Dortmund star keen to leave Old Trafford this summer.
Isaac Seelochan of The Manchester Evening News says: "It would be a major surprise if Sancho did not move before September's deadline. It's likely to be one that goes right to the wire, but for the sake of his career, he needs a move."
Napoli 'considering' Hojlund alternative
Napoli have reportedly offered Roma striker Artem Dovbyk a six-year contract amid talks with Rasmus Hojlund. Matteo Moretto have claimed that the Italian champions are considering their options following Romelu Lukaku's injury.
Dovbyk is a new name, but club-to-club negotiations have reportedly not started. Hojlund, meanwhile, is out of favour at M16 after the arrival of Benjamin Sesko.
Isaac Seelochan of The Manchester Evening News says: "It just simply hasn't worked out for Hojlund at United. It's not entirely his fault with the Dane needing to have an experienced striker to play alongside and take the pressure off him, but he is ultimately not good enough for what the Reds want to be under Amorim."
