Tyler Dibling has been a long-term target for Everton this summer.

David Moyes wants Dibling on Merseyside, but the Toffees have had multiple bids rejected, and talk surrounding his future has now gone quiet.

The Blues lost multiple assets in the final third at the end of last season, with Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom returning to their parent clubs.

Southampton boss Will Still has reintegrated Dibling into his squad after leaving him out of the initial games this season, but things look set to change again over the weekend.

A domino effect could be set to begin paving the way for Dibling’s move to Merseyside.

Southampton have now been linked with a move for Middlesbrough’s Finn Azaz, following the midfielder’s fine 2024/25 Championship campaign.

Everton had been linked with a move for the 24-year-old earlier in the summer, but chose to explore other targets.

According to The Northern Echo, the Saints have had an offer rejected for Azaz, but continue to engage in talks with Middlesbrough.

With the midfielder keen on the move, Southampton could make an improved offer, which will have a knock-on effect for Dibling’s future.

The south coast side are clearly preparing for potential exits, and Everton could make their decisions easier by upping their offer for the midfielder.

Moyes is clearly in need of added depth, shown by Everton’s disappointing 1-0 defeat to Leeds.

Time could run out for David Moyes if Everton don’t improve

The defeat to Leeds is a clear indication that Everton’s squad isn’t on the right level.

The Blues have been useless for most of this summer and haven’t addressed their clear problems in the transfer window, with the right-hand side a real problem.

Players Everton have missed out on so far

Mallick Fofana, Lyon

Having lost good depth in the likes of Ashley Young and Abdoulaye Doucoure at the end of last season, The Friedkin Group have left it late to find replacements.

Time could therefore start to run out for Moyes this season if they don’t improve quickly.
