Graham Potter is under severe pressure again at West Ham United after the opening day 3-0 loss to Sunderland.

The Hammers boss could come under more fire should he lose to his former side, Chelsea, who visit the London Stadium on Friday.

Potter had a torrid time with the Blues after such an impressive spell with Brighton, and things have started on the wrong foot for the 50-year-old this season, with West Ham’s defeat to Sunderland.

He will be hoping for better against Chelsea, but one key stat has already put them on the back foot.

West Ham have won just two of their last ten against Chelsea

Potter still has plenty of work to do during the transfer window, with West Ham still targeting two more midfielders.

West Ham aren’t keen to match Southampton’s £50million asking price for Mateus Fernandes and look bare in midfield.

The Hammers’ test against Chelsea already looks difficult, but their form against their West London rivals is also troubling.

The Irons have won just two of their last ten against the Blues and look set for another defeat.

West Ham’s record vs Chelsea

Last season, Julen Lopetegui’s side were beaten 3-0 in their home game against Chelsea, before Potter lost 2-1 in his return to Stamford Bridge.

The Irons have failed to score in three of their last seven fixtures against the Blues.

Chelsea have had a solid summer, in which they have balanced the books heavily by selling more than £200million worth of players.

Enzo Maresca’s side drew in their opening game of the season against Crystal Palace, so they will be desperate for three points here.

Graham Potter could face serious sack question after Chelsea

Potter has yet to be helped out this summer, with the £55million sale of Mohammed Kudus significantly weakening his side.

With Edson Alvarez also expected to depart, Hammers supporters will be wondering if they will ever sort out their midfield.

West Ham’s defence, midfield, and attack are all not good enough, and the Irons could come away from the game with Chelsea with a costly thrashing.

Should the Hammers continue their disappointing record against the Blues, Potter could be getting ever closer to being sacked.
