Newcastle United youngster Park Seung-soo has been making quite the impression behind the scenes.
Seung-soo arrived at Newcastle United from Suwon Bluewings earlier this summer and has since impressed.
Indeed, Newcastle might keep Seung-soo this season and certainly appear to rate him, given he was on the bench against Aston Villa and was involved in training in the build-up to the Liverpool game.
While it’s hard to imagine the 18-year-old getting too many starts any time soon given the competition on the wings in the Newcastle United squad, Eddie Howe clearly rates him enough to include him in match day squads.
Now, Craig Hope has shared some interesting insight.
Park Seung-soo sent Fabian Schar ‘up in the air’
The Daily Mail journalist was speaking during a Q&A posted on their YouTube channel.
During the discussion, he revealed that the talented Seung-soo sent senior teammate Fabian Schar “up in the air” during a training session out in South Korea in pre-season.
Schar is one of the most senior members of the Newcastle squad, making 231 appearances for the club since arriving in 2018.

Hope said: “I’ve seen the young boy Park, the young South Korean player who has come in.
“I haven’t even committed this to print yet, he put Fabian Schar up in the air during a training session that we were watching.
“When that happened, club staff suggested that it was time to go. That, for me, tells you Park’s got a bit about him.”
Newcastle United’s stance on Park Seung-soo
Newcastle rate Seung-soo highly, though it remains to be seen what happens with his immediate future.
With Harvey Barnes, Anthony Gordon, Jacob Murphy and new signing Anthony Elanga all available in wide positions, it’s hard to see how he gets first-team minutes.
However, Howe has clearly indicated he rates the player. Though his options are reasonably limited, it’s hard to see the Newcastle United manager selecting him just for the sake of it.
If Newcastle rate him highly enough, Seung-soo will have a role to play this season. The Champions League brings an added strain on the squad, and Howe no doubt needs all the help he can get.
