Leeds United have been hunting for a new left winger all summer, and have finally got their man.

Manor Solomon was a leading performer at Elland Road last season, but returned to Tottenham after his loan ended in June.

Then, it seemed that Leeds were destined to land Igor Paixao, only for the Brazilian to join Marseille.

Now, Daniel Farke has Noah Okafor in his ranks after signing from AC Milan, and Xherdan Shaqiri has sent the new addition a message.

Daniel James thinks that Okafor is a quality addition at Elland Road, as it seems the 25-year-old has already been approved by his teammates.

The Yorkshire club kicked off their Premier League campaign with a 1-0 win over Everton on home soil, and will head to Arsenal next.

Farke opted to play Willy Gnonto on the left, with the divisive Jack Harrison coming off the bench.

However, the German has been desperate to land a new left winger this summer.

Okafor is expected to be the first choice moving forward

The Swiss international posted an image of himself signing for the Whites on his Instagram page on 21 August, saying he is ready to get to work.

Okafor’s former Switzerland teammate, Shaqiri, shared some uplifting words: “Good luck broski.”

Will Noah Okafor slot straight into the Leeds United team?

While Farke will surely give Okafor a regular starting berth, Arsenal may come too soon for him to start.

The 25-year-old has had time to meet his teammates and coaches, but he has not had time to fully integrate into the team.

However, the Swiss winger has already played competitive football this season, having represented AC Milan in the Coppa Italia.

Gnonto did a valiant job against the Toffees, and Farke may opt to give him another chance on the left.

However, in time, Okafor will be Leeds’ leading left-winger and he will have a significant role to play.
