Both West Ham and Chelsea will be looking to put disappointing opening day results behind them as they clash on the second week of the new Premier League season.
We get our second London derby of the campaign this evening, and Chelsea’s second in a row after their goalless draw with Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.
West Ham, meanwhile, fell to a shock 3-0 defeat by newly-promoted Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, and Graham Potter will want to ensure that that performance is not repeated when the Blues traverse the capital to visit the London Stadium.
The Hammers will be without Edson Alvarez, who is off to Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce on loan with a buy option, while Chelsea handed league debuts to their handful of their summer signings last week, including Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro, Estevao, and Liam Delap, while recent recruit from Ajax Jorrel Hato was an unused substitute.
As for the east Londoners, left wing-back El Hadji Malick Diouf and Mads Hermansen made their first starts, while Callum Wilson made his bow off the bench.
