Aston Villa’s Àlex Moreno is set to complete a move to Girona.
The La Liga side initially identified the left-back as a transfer target this summer. Two days ago, claims from Spain explained that they made progress to secure his services.
On Thursday, Cadena Ser journalist Nil Solà reported the Aston Villa player will arrive in Spain to carry out transfer formalities with Girona.
The 32-year-old is in his final year of contract and will leave Unai Emery’s side as a free agent. This has been reported in Spain and journalist Ivan Quirós took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to back it up.
He reports Moreno has already completed his medical tests with the Catalan club and will sign a contract until 2027.
The transfer needs to be made official, and Friday’s Mundo Deportivo reports Girona will announce his arrival today.
Moreno arrived in Spain yesterday, after terminating his contract with Aston Villa. Later that day, the newspaper reports he carried out medical and signed the contract until 2027 with Girona.
Their plan for the fullback is to quickly join his new teammates and if all goes well, he will train under Míchel today.
