Iliman Ndiaye shone as one of Everton’s best players last season, and his good work did not go unnoticed as several clubs have taken note.

Ndiaye joined Everton from Marseille for around £15m last year, and had an excellent campaign at Goodison Park, with his combination of speed, skill and goal threat making him a hit.

Everton have struggled to add an extra winger of his quality onto the right wing, but the loan signing of Jack Grealish could make them very exciting to watch this season.

However, Everton could now face a battle to keep the 25-year-old at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, as approaches have been made for him.

Everton reject approaches for Iliman Ndiaye

Everton have now rejected approaches from clubs in Serie A and the Premier League for Ndiaye, setting a clear stance over his future.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

Fabrizio Romano has reported via X (22 August) that all of these were rejected, with Ndiaye seen as a “crucial” member of the Everton project going forward.

The winger scored 11 times in 37 games across all competitions last season.

Ndiaye ended the season in sublime fashion as he scored a memorable brace in the final game at Goodison Park.

Clearly, the former Sheffield United and Marseille attacker is attracting admirers from across Europe, but David Moyes is determined to keep hold of him.

With this in mind, The Friedkin Group now need to take immediate action to fulfil Moyes’ desire to keep hold of one of his most important players.

Everton need to offer new contract to Iliman Ndiaye

Despite having four years remaining on his deal, the best course of action for Everton could be to hand Ndiaye a new contract.

Ndiaye is seen as a crucial player, but this is not reflected in his salary as he earns £45,000 per week, ranking him 10th in the squad. By comparison, backup defender Michael Keane earns £70,000 per week.

A new deal with a payrise reflecting his importance could keep Ndiaye at Everton for the foreseeable future, as there may be a fear next summer.

If the winger has another top-quality campaign, but Everton fail to qualify for Europe, then a move away to a club competing in the Champions League could be of interest to Ndiaye as he heads into his prime years.
