Luiz to Forest, Al-Ahli want Onana: Latest transfer news and rumours today

Nottingham Forest have signed Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz on loan for the 2025-26 campaign.

The 27-year-old only joined Juventus from Aston Villa in the summer of 2024, but he has struggled to make his mark in Turin, and a number of Premier League clubs have been linked with his services during the current window.

Forest have won the race for his signature, and there is a conditional obligation for the deal to become permanent during next summer's transfer window.

Luiz told Forest's official website: “I am really happy to be here, it’s a big club and I decided to come here because I can see the ambition the Club has. I am so excited to start with the team and give my best for the shirt and the fans.”

Meanwhile, chief football officer Ross Wilson added: “It’s been a very busy but successful period for us in the window in the past few weeks, and Douglas is another addition to the squad that will bring significant quality to the group.

“He’s played at the highest level for a long time, understands the demands of the Premier League, and has experience playing in elite European competition. We’re delighted that Douglas now joins the group, and we are sure that he will be warmly welcomed by everyone at Nottingham Forest."

Luiz scored 22 goals and registered 24 assists in 204 appearances for Villa, while he featured on 27 occasions for Juventus during the 2024-25 campaign.

Everton's Onana 'wanted' by Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli

Elsewhere, Al-Ahli are reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa midfielder Amadou Onana before the summer transfer window closes for business.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Al-Ahli have added the Belgium international to their transfer shortlist, although the Saudi Pro League are yet to approach Aston Villa to discuss a move.

The 24-year-old made the move to Villa Park from Everton during last summer's transfer market, and he has made 35 appearances for his current side, finding the back of the net on five occasions.

Onana played the full 90 minutes of Villa's 2025-26 Premier League opener against Newcastle United last weekend, and he is viewed as a vital player for Unai Emery's side.

However, Al-Ahli are seemingly preparing to test the Premier League club's resolve with a sizeable transfer offer.

Fulham 'eyeing bargain move' for Basel attacker Otele

Meanwhile, Fulham are allegedly interested in signing Basel attacker Philip Otele before the end of the summer market.

Fulham head coach Marco Silva is bidding to boost his forward options for the 2025-26 campaign, and at least one player is expected to be signed in that area of the field before the window closes.

According to GIVEMESPORT, Otele is on the London club's radar, with the 26-year-old said to be available for under €15m (£13m), representing a market opportunity.

Otele has an impressive record of 12 goals and six assists in 27 appearances for Basel in all competitions.

The Nigerian is also believed to be on Eintracht Frankfurt's radar, with Fulham therefore set to face competition for the forward in the latter stages of the transfer window.

Fulham could allegedly sign two new attackers before the end of the market even if Rodrigo Muniz stays.
