Vasco da Gama are sounding more and more confident about landing Matheus França, with club officials in Brazil expecting the deal to be wrapped up in the coming days.
Brazilian reports say the 21-year-old Crystal Palace man has already reached an agreement with Vasco, and the clubs are now working directly to settle the terms of the transfer.
Unlike earlier suggestions of a simple loan, the operation is now expected to be a one-year loan with an option to buy.
Inside the club, there’s a belief that França can quickly add quality to manager Fernando Diniz’s attack, and the expectation is for him to be in Brazil by the start of next week if everything goes to plan.
The forward left Flamengo for Palace in a €20m move in 2023, but injuries and limited minutes have slowed his progress in England.
A return to Brazil is now being lined up as the best chance to regain form and confidence.
