Eze To Start; Ben White, Martinelli Benched - Arsenal Predicted XI vs Leeds United

Arsenal are preparing for their second game of the Premier League season, which is the first at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta‘s side won their opening game against Man United in what was an unconvincing 1-0 victory at Old Trafford. Riccardo Calafiori scored the only goal of the game from a corner.

However, with a week extra to prepare, Arsenal will hope they can get the better of a Leeds United side, who won on their opening day too. They beat Everton 1-0 in a game where Daniel Farke’s side looked particularly impressive.

But how will Arteta decide to line up against Leeds, and will new signing Eberechi Eze make his Gunners’ debut after joining from Crystal Palace?

Timber replaces Ben White in the Arsenal defence

GK – David Raya –Raya kept a clean sheet in the first game against Man United, and it was fair to say that he was arguably the Gunners’ best player.

LB – Riccardo Calafiori – We would have Myles Lewis-Skelly here, but Calafiori scored against Man United and played very well.

CB – Gabriel – Brazil international Gabriel was excellent last season, despite having a slow start against United, him and Saliba grew into the game.

CB – William Saliba –Saliba will hope that him and Gabriel will keep two clean sheets in their opening two matches.

RB – Jurrien Timber – The Dutchman looked more physical than Ben White against United, and so we have him starting instead.

Arteta keeps the same midfield trio

CDM – Martin Zubimendi – It emerged afterwards that Zubimendi played against United whilst dealing with an illness.

CM – Declan Rice – Rice had a quiet game by his very high standards in the match against United. He will hope for more this weekend.

CM – Martin Odegaard – The Norway international was one of Arsenal’s best players against United at Old Trafford.

Eze starts in debut for the Gunners

LW – Eberechi Eze – Arsenal certainly missed someone with the creativity and ability of Eze against United. If he completes his medical by 12pm on Friday, he will be able to play against Leeds on Saturday afternoon.

RW – Bukayo Saka –Saka had a poor first game, he was quiet, and will hope to make more of an impact against Leeds this weekend.

ST – Viktor Gyokeres – The Swedish striker didn’t make much of an impact against Man United, many Arsenal fans will be praying that he will get his first goal on Saturday.
