ExWHUEmployee Reveals Dutch Star Does "Fancy A Move To London" As West Ham Are Handed Transfer Boost

Feyenoord’s Quinten Timber is among a number of midfielders that West Ham could try to sign before the transfer window closes.

Speaking on The West Ham Way podcast (quotes via their website), insider ExWHUEmployee said that the Dutchman is open to making the switch to the London Stadium, but there will be stiff competition for his signature:

“With regard to Timber of Feyenoord, there were some concerns regarding his injury record but the club seem prepared to take a risk and the player seems to fancy a move to London, where his twin Jurrien plays for Arsenal.”

“Once more, as is the case with most of these signings, there is interest elsewhere for the player. He has clubs from all over the continent keeping an eye on him with the latest reported one being Bayer Leverkusen of Germany.”

Who else wants to sign Timber?

As Ex mentions, Bayer Leverkusen are in the mix for the 24-year-old, but there is a feeling that the player would be keener on a transfer to the Premier League.

That could give the Hammers an advantage in negotiations, although there have been rumours that Manchester United are interested as well, with the Red Devils considering alternatives to Brighton’s Carlos Baleba.

What makes a move for Timber particularly attractive is that he won’t cost a great deal to sign, as he has less than a year left on his contract at Feyenoord. His addition could, therefore, free up funds for another midfielder to be brought in.

West Ham have their eye on nearly a dozen players

Moves for Southampton’s Mateus Fernandes, Chelsea pair Andrey Santos and Carney Chukwuemeka, Lille’s Ngal’ayel Mukau, Barcelona’s Marc Casado, Monaco’s Soungoutou Magassa, Lens’ Andy Diouf, Rennes’ Djaoui Cisse, Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney and Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma have all been explored.

It does demonstrate the extent of the club’s desperation in terms of trying to bring in reinforcements in the middle of the park. The need has become even more urgent after the decision to loan out Edson Alvarez to Fenerbahce. The Turkish side also have an option to buy the Mexican for €22m.
