Chelsea are about to bring in a big chunk of money that could allow them to land their targets.

Chelsea’s transfer window could be about to explode back into action thanks to a the significant amount of money headed to Stamford Bridge. It has been an interesting window for the Blues, who started strong, snapping up Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, quickly strengthening their attack.

Attention then turned to exits, with UEFA slapping Chelsea with a fine this summer and promising to almost double it if spending at Stamford Bridge does not become more responsible.

Noni Madueke and Joao Felix were among the players sold, while Jorrel Hato was eventually snapped up as a consequence, but the remaining Chelsea targets have been put on hold until more sales are sanctioned. RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons looks likely to be the next incoming, and Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho looks to be the other target.

Enzo Maresca did express an intention to sign a new centre-back after Levi Colwill was ruled out for much of the season with a knee injury, but he has now confirmed that the club are looking internally for solutions, and they do have plenty of centre-backs at the club.

Renato Veiga looks to be the first out, undergoing his medical at Villarreal on Thursday ahead of a £25.9million exit. Carney Chukwuemeka looks to be headed to Borussia Dortmund, with a £17.2million deal expected. Fabrizio Romano has posted on X: “Borussia Dortmund are set to discuss directly with Chelsea on Friday to get both Carney Chukwuemeka and Aaron Anselmino deals done! Understand these are the details. Chukwuemeka, €20m fee plus add-ons and sell-on clause. Anselmino, loan with no buy option.”

After that, it looks as though Nicolas Jackson will be next out, with a host of clubs battling for his signature. Romano posted: “Aston Villa are pushing for Nico Jackson as top target wanted by Unai Emery. Emery was Jackson’s coach at Villarreal and relationship is excellent, with talks ongoing over formula/structure of the deal. #AVFC also aware of competitions with several top clubs keen.”

He then added: “There’s big movements ongoing around Nico Jackson, he’s definitely set to leave Chelsea very soon. Understand Newcastle and Bayern have both called again in last 48h, Aston Villa pushing as Unai Emery wants him. Decision soon.”

Maresca provided an update on Jackson during his Thursday press conference. He said: “He is available but he's not going to be part of the squad because, we already said, we have two strikers, we have two players in that position and also we know that something can happen before the transfer window closes."

Asked about Jackson leaving, he added: “No idea, to be honest. No idea. You know already from last season that I prefer to be focused on training sessions, prepare the game and these kind of things. I don't know."

With around £60million being demanded for Jackson, Chelsea’s total incomings could be around £103.1million, assuming Jackson does command £60million, and that should allow the Blues get at least one, if not both, of their key targets.
