THE [Cherries](http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/cherries/clubnews/) began their National League Cup campaign with a 3-0 win over neighbours Bournemouth Sports.
AFC Bournemouth led 1-0 at the break thanks to a Kelci Bowers goal, before second half goals from Jenna Markham and Sophie Quirk handed the Cherries an opening win over the visitors to the Ringwood Community Hub.
Skipper Abby Jones and Bowers had a couple of early changes, before the latter headed home with 38 minutes on the clock, turning home a header from Markham.
Markham got herself on the scoresheet as she finished a Kenni Thompson cross from close range, two minutes shy of the hour mark.
The pick of the goals came from Quirk after 65 minutes, who cut inside onto her right foot and curled the ball into the top right corner.
That concluded the scoring as the Cherries defeated their neighbours to begin their cup campaign.
