**Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa won’t be joining Luis Diaz at Bayern Munich this summer, according to a new claim from journalist Christian Falk.**
The Italian enjoyed his best moment in a Reds shirt last week, scoring a vital late goal in the 4-2 win at home to Bournemouth in their Premier League opener.
Chiesa was strongly linked with a move away from Liverpool earlier in the summer, but as things stand, he is going nowhere before the window shuts.
That’s certainly the opinion of Falk, who told [_Caught Offside_](https://www.caughtoffside.com/2025/08/22/liverpool-bayern-premier-league-federico-chiesa/) that the 27-year-old won’t be moving to Bayern to join up with former teammate Diaz:
_“It’s not true that Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa is once again a topic of discussion at FC Bayern. The 27-year-old Italian forward is contracted to Liverpool until the summer of 2028. It should be stated clearly for the record that Bayern never held a serious interest in bringing the former Juventus star to Sabener Straße. Either way, Chiesa has made it clear to the club that he wants to stay at Anfield.”_
**Liverpool have to keep hold of Chiesa**
-----------------------------------------
While opinion may have been split about Chiesa leaving Liverpool this summer, there are surely very few supporters who now want him to depart.
Last week’s major contribution against Bournemouth showed what he is capable of as an impact substitute, with Reds captain [Virgil van Dijk](https://www.tribalfootball.com/article/soccer-premier-league-van-dijk-praises-chiesa-after-match-winning-bournemouth-cameo-065e91ef-5ea6-45d9-bc22-2866993e8731) heaping praise on him:
_“Fede is an amazing character, he works so hard and has been unlucky with injuries but we are all here for him and we all know what kind of impact he could have. He’s a great character and we all love him, I think everyone can see that, and he’s loved by the fans, and to produce moments like he has (against Bournemouth) is something we all want to see.”_
With the likes of Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Ben Doak leaving Liverpool, and Diogo Jota tragically passing away, the Reds’ attacking options now feel relatively light.
It would, therefore, make little sense to allow Chiesa to leave before the end of the summer transfer window, and he will hopefully kick on this season after a disappointing 2024/25 campaign at Anfield.
