The NFL is reportedly poised to announce a new broadcasting deal with long-term partner Sky Sports that will also see FTA broadcaster 5 show Sunday night games.
The league’s existing deals in the UK and Ireland expired at the end of last season and talks have been ongoing for the majority of the year about fresh terms.
According to _[The Athletic](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6567076/2025/08/21/nfl-uk-tv-sky-sports-channel-5-dazn/)_, the agreement is due to be formally announced next week and will see Sky – broadcaster of the NFL since 1995 – remain the home of two exclusive Sunday night games at 6pm and 9pm/9.25pm, in addition to Monday Night Football and Thursday Night Football.
The broadcaster will also retain NFL Redzone, as well as other regular news and analysis programmes via its dedicated Sky Sports NFL channel.
A bold addition to the rights carve-up will see 5 show an NFL game every Sunday night at 6pm on its flagship channel, with a further game following on 5Action. Dermot O’Leary and Sam Quek will host the coverage, which will include an experimental new “gameshow” element during breaks in play.
Both of 5’s games – different from those shown on Sky – will also be available through NFL Gamepass. The service, which broadcasts every NFL game live apart from Sky’s picks, is available as an add-on through DAZN and also includes the 24/7 NFL Network channel.
While the Super Bowl will go out on Sky, 5 and DAZN, details of the broadcast of the London Games is currently unclear, as is the status of college football for the new season.
The regular season gets underway on Thursday, September 4 as 2024 champions Philadelphia Eagles take on the Dallas Cowboys at 8.20pm ET (Friday 1.20am UK).
