According to a report by the not particularly reliable Santi Aouna for French outlet Foot Mercato, Olympique de Marseille are another suitor that’s interested in the services of Liverpool FC left-back Kostas Tsimikas.
Joining the French giants would… certainly be an interesting move for the Greek Scouser. Marseille seem to be perpetually in crisis with Roberto de Zerbi and their “ALL THE DICKHEADS” recruitment policy, and have already had a major incident after the opening weekend with Adrien Rabiot and Jonathan Rowe apparently involved in a “violent bust-up” after losing to Rennes 1-0, despite being up a man for most of the game. Both players have been placed on the transfer list, with Rowe already looking like he’s packing up for Bologna.
On the other hand, Marseille have Champions League football after finishing second in the league last season, and that will certainly be attractive for Kostas, should his preference to move abroad and play CL football be true.
He’s 29, and really shouldn’t be settling for the handful of games he’d as third-choice left-back at Liverpool. I’ll wish him all the best wherever he ends up going.
