Everton will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to Leeds United with a home clash against Brighton.

David Moyes will have lost sleep over Everton’s 1-0 defeat away to Leeds United on Monday night, and will need to make some changes when the Toffees host Brighton this weekend.

While the game was decided by a controversial James Tarkowski handball decision at Elland Road, the general performance was far below usual standards.

With that in mind, Moyes could look to make two a couple of changes to his starting 11 to secure their first win of the season in a clash against Brighton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Defensively, Everton are somewhat stuck for options, and all that does is increase the importance of more arrivals in the next nine days.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

Jordan Pickford will start in goal for the Toffees, with an unchanged defence expected ahead of him consisting of James Garner and Jake O’Brien as make-shift full-backs.

Tarkowski could be partnered by Michael Keane in the heart of defence yet again, with Jarrad Branthwaite still sidelined with injury.

Tim Iroegbunam could drop out of the starting 11, with summer signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall dropping in alongside Idrissa Gueye in a deeper role.

Carlos Alcaraz featured wide right for the Toffees against Leeds, and he could occupy the central role against the Seagulls to make way for two attacking changes.

With Alcaraz moving centrally, it could allow Moyes to add more width to his team by handing a full debut to Jack Grealish.

Grealish came on as a sub against Leeds but failed to have any impact, with Iliman Ndiaye then featuring on the opposite flank.

Beto was a complete waste of space for Everton last time out, and that could open the door for Thierno Barry to make his first start in the famous blue.
