On Thursday, Gazzetta dello Sport reported AS Roma were going ‘full steam ahead’ in a move for Wolves’ Fabio Silva.
The forward is said to be keen on a transfer to the Italian side and this was encouraging sporting director Frederic Massara to make major attempts to land him.
Today’s Corriere dello Sport has a little more on the 23-year-old Wolves player, who spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Las Palmas. The newspapers the Portuguese attacker’s move to Roma can hinge on Artem Dovbyk’s exit from the Stadio Olimpico.
The Ukrainian’s departure would hand the Giallorossi over €35m and this money would then be used to meet Wolves’ asking price for Silva.
As of now, Vitor Pereira’s side want €20m to sell the versatile forward but Roma are stuck at a valuation of only €15m. This gap between the two clubs can be bridged by the 28-year-old striker’s sale.
Roma are, thus far, struggling in a move for Jadon Sancho because of hefty commission demands from his entourage. As a result, they are focused on signing Silva, with manager Gian Piero Gasperini very keen on improving his attack.
