Newcastle United told €40m and player will be sold to them – Terms clear on deal

Last week, a source close to the situation told Sport Witness that Newcastle United have made initial contact for Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi but hadn’t gone far beyond the initial stage.

The move was described as ‘very difficult’ as the Nerazzurri were keen on keeping the midfielder at the club. Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport has more information on Newcastle United’s interest in the Italian.

The newspaper reports that as of now, Inter have seven players available for three midfield spots. This is why an exit is a possibility.

Gazzetta state Newcastle United are interested in Frattesi but the Nerazzurri will only sanction an exit if their €40m price tag is met by the Magpies. So far, no offers are on the table and Piotr Zielinski is a likelier candidate to depart than 25-year-old Frattesi.

Inter manager Cristian Chivu sees the Azzurri star as an important part of his side. Even if former manager Simone Inzaghi was at odds with Frattesi, the ex-Sassuolo player is a key cog in the wheel for the Romanian.

A host of Premier League sides have been linked with the midfielder, and it’s clear they need €40m… or close to it.
