The situation between Alexander Isak and Newcastle United seems very delicately balanced right now after a public war of words earlier this week.
Alexander Isak opened the floodgates with a statement which levelled accusations at the club and claimed that there was no way to repair the broken trust between both parties.
That caused the club to release a statement of their own, effectively telling him that he's under contract and to get on with his job.
Whatever happens now, it seems like Newcastle United will lose. Of course, they could keep hold of their prize asset, but at what cost? Would the players and fans even want him back in the squad after the way he's behaved?

Could Isak earn the fans' respect again?
Eddie Howe sees the relationship between Alexander Isak and the fans as repairable
Speaking to the media this morning, Eddie Howe said he believes the players would welcome him back to the fold and went on to say that he believes the fans will, too. (h/t The Chronicle)
"There’s no doubt how the players will feel. I think they will feel the same way I do...if Alex decided to come and play for us, the players would welcome him back.
“The relationship between our fans and Isak can still be good. The fans will always react to the way a player plays. There is always two sides to a story. We will see where we are in a week’s time. I hope I can work with him again”.
Obviously, should Isak return to the team and start banging in goals, we'd all soon forget about this whole saga, but whether we'd forgive is another question entirely.

It will take more than just good performances to completely convince the fans he's committed to the club
Goals and good performances will only take him so far back into the fans' good graces; there are plenty of other things that need to happen, too, such as sacking his representation and issuing a heartfelt apology to the club, the manager, his teammates and the fans.
The majority of fans would like to believe that he's just been poorly advised, and if Isak were to point the finger at his agent, most of us would be willing to accept that.
Time is a great healer, but there's plenty Isak could do to accelerate that healing if he swallows his pride.
