Leeds United could pick up a bargain in the transfer window, as one of their leading targets for the number 10 role may be available for a cut-price fee.
Daniel Farke is close to completing his Leeds squad for the Premier League season as the 2025 summer transfer window comes to a close.
Noah Okafor completed his move to Elland Road ahead of Leeds’ game against Arsenal to become Farke’s ninth signing of the summer, following the deal to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
However, Leeds’ transfer business is not done, as they continue to scour the market for further additions to their attack. The Whites have been linked with Nantes forward Matthis Abline in recent days, as one of several targets.
Christantus Uche is another player linked with Leeds in recent days. It now appears that financial constraints impacting Getafe could play in the Whites’ favour as they look to provide Farke with the firepower he needs in attack.

Leeds United could complete a cut-price Christantus Uche deal
According to a report in Diario AS, Getafe could be forced to offload Uche at a bargain price as they struggle to manage the restrictive Financial Fair Play constraints that exist in Spain.
In a prior AS report, Getafe’s president admitted that the club would be forced to sell players in order to register their new signings for the new season. Despite selling Omar Alderete to Sunderland, Getafe still need to bring in money to balance the books.
As a result, the Spanish paper suggests that Getafe may be forced into accepting a fee of closer to 15 million euros (£13 million), as opposed to their initial valuation in excess of 20 million euros (£17.2 million).

The report states: “The club has made an effort to find a potential buyer. Enquiries have come in, almost in abundance – Sunderland, Leeds, Wolves (most notably), Burnley, and Nice, from France – but no offers.”
Before adding: “The longer they wait, the more Getafe will lower their demands. In other words, he could leave for less than €15 million, his current market value.”

Leeds target enjoys strong start to La Liga season
The news that Getafe may be forced to sell Uche at a discount price will undoubtedly provide a boost to Leeds as they look to fight off competition for their next attacking target.
Uche also gave fans a taste of what to expect as he made a strong start to the season, as Getafe kicked off their La Liga campaign with a win.
The Nigerian playmaker was the star of the show, scoring a goal and registering an assist in an impressive all-round attacking display. Both of his contributions came in a similar fashion, as he cut in from the right flank before making the right decision in the box.
With Okafor expected to play on the left side of Leeds’ attack, Uche would be a strong option to partner him on the right.
