Welcome to our live coverage of David Moyes' press conference to preview Everton's historic Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday (August 24). The Blues boss will be with us from 1.30pm.

The visit of Brighton is Everton's first competitive match at the club's magnificent new waterfront ground. It is set to be a special occasion.

But it is also an occasion that the Blues will be desperate to mark with a victory - especially after such an underwhelming performance in their Premier League opener at Leeds United on Monday.

Moyes was not helped by the fact that he was without Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitalii Mykolenko for the 1-0 defeat. Expect injury updates on both this afternoon.

There will no doubt be questions over transfers, too. Everton have brought in seven new signings so far but it feels as if they still at least three more recruits - right back, right winger, centre midfielder - away from having a competitive squad.

Moyes know that and it will be interesting to see if he offers any developments on that front amid speculation that Manchester City defender Nathan Ake is on his shortlist.

Joe Thomas will be at Finch Farm to bring you live updates from the press conference with Chris Beesley back at base in the Liverpool ECHO's office in the heart of Liverpool city centre.
