"It's pretty clear": Manager fuming as Liverpool get ready to poach £35m star

**Cracks are beginning to show at Crystal Palace as the pressure of losing his two best players begins to take is toll on Oliver Glasner.**

The Eagles boss coached his side through a 1-0 Conference League first-leg play-off victory over Fredrikstad but was forced to omit Eberechi Eze from the squad as he nears a move to Arsenal.

The 27-year-old playmaker was crucial to Palace winning their first ever major trophy last season.

Talking about Eze being missing on Thursday evening, Glasner said he received a phone call from Eze, who claims he was unwell and not able to play against Fredrikstad.

_“I’m responsible for Crystal Palace and I think he won’t play for us again,”_ said Glasner when asked to confirm whether Eze was heading to the Emirates Stadium.

_“__So I have to prepare the team for Nottingham (Forest, in the Premier League on Sunday) and for the second leg against Fredrikstad, and I’m planning without Eberechi.”_

Just as important was Marc Guehi, the club captain, but Glasner does not seem ready to accept his departure as graciously.

Speaking at his post match press conference, Glasner was asked further questions about Guehi amid strong interest from Liverpool.

Glasner said: _“I just know if Marc leaves and he’s not available for Fredrikstad we will have big troubles. It’s pretty clear, we can’t register anyone, so from my side he has to stay._

_“We played with Jefferson Lerma in the back today. He’s a midfield player. We have no centre-back available at the moment, and if Marc leaves, OK, maybe I will try my boots, because I was a centre-back. This could be an option. I will think about it.”_

Liverpool were in pole position to sign Marc Guehi in late July but they pivoted to Alexander Isak but that may now cause them to miss out on Guehi this month.

Palace have their backs against the wall and if they want to replace him, they can only do so after selling Guehi due to their PSR constraints.

Liverpool need to act swiftly.
