Birmingham City are set to unveil Lewis Koumas as their 10th signing of the summer, it is claimed.
The 19-year-old forward, who spent last season on loan at Stoke City, has been subject to plenty of interest in the Championship over the last few weeks, including fellow newly-promoted big spenders Wrexham. Preston North End, Hull City and Sheffield United have also been reportedly interested.
But Fabrizio Romano says that the teenager has opted for St Andrew's on what will be a loan deal, despite some whispers that he might have made a permanent move for £10 million.
Our colleagues in Birmingham write: "BirminghamLive has been told the transfer is not yet complete but it does seem likely that the former Stoke City loan player will come to St Andrew’s, as the club’s tenth signing and fourth loanee.
"Koumas would join Tommy Doyle, James Beadle and Eiran Cashin as players on the fringes of Premier League teams who have opted to continue their careers at upwardly mobile Blues."
Demarai Gray, Keshi Anderson and the injured Scott Wright are Chris Davies' first choice wingers while Jay Stansfield, Taylor Gardner-Hickman, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Willum Willumsson and Kanya Fujimoto can also play on the flank.
Koumas can play out wide or down the middle and made 49 appearances for Stoke in what was his first loan out of Anfield. He scored tree times in the Championship, twice in the FA Cup and once in the Carabao Cup.
