“I think [Matthew Golden’s] just scratching the surface. Rookies, they’re drinking water through a fire hose, so to speak. There’s a lot of information that we throw at these guys. Quite honestly, a lot of it’s just you want to see how these guys respond. Football’s important to him. Anytime you get guys that are talented and football is important to them, they’ve got a great chance of reaching their full potential,” LaFleur said of Golden.

His 4.29 speed in the 40-yard dash grabbed headlines, but his complete skill set has proven more impressive during camp.
Route running precision, reliable hands, and strong field awareness make him a legitimate threat across all three levels.
With injuries affecting the receiver room, keeping Golden healthy remains a priority.
If he continues developing at his current pace, the rookie could transform into a cornerstone of Green Bay’s offense before the season ends.
