Everton have been linked with Malick Fofana for the past few weeks as they’re looking to add to their ranks ahead of the transfer deadline.
Despite suffering an injury in July, Fofana remains a target at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
David Moyes roped in Jack Grealish and Thierno Barry to bolster his attack this summer, but is still keen on more reinforcements in the final third, which has led to the pursuit of the Lyon winger.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin left Everton after his contract expired and Jack Harrison returned to Leeds after his loan spell, making it imperative for the Toffees to sign replacements.

Alan Myers expects Malick Fofana to leave
Lyon have been facing financial issues and that has led to them having to sell a few of their key players.
MORE TOFFEES STORIES
Fofana, 20, certainly is among their most expensive assets and a sale this summer would be a huge boost for the Ligue 1 club.
However, despite their cash crunch, former Sky Sports news editor Alan Myers claims that they are not compelled to sell the Belgium international this summer.
He stated on 22 August that he still expects the winger to be on the move, given the interest shown in his services.
Discussing the Toffees potentially signing him, Myers wrote on X: “It’s possible, despite the reports Lyon do not need to sell him but I expect him to leave and we have tried, whether he comes or not I don’t know.”
Malick Fofana can be a game-changer for Everton
Signing Fofana could be a game-changer for Everton, injecting dynamism into their attack, which struggled in their 1-0 loss to Leeds.
The 20-year-old Lyon winger brings flair, pace and goal-scoring prowess, with 11 goals and five assists last season.
His 97th percentile ranking for progressive carries (6.60 per 90) highlights his ability to drive forward, complementing Grealish’s creative vision and Barry’s potential as a focal point.

Fofana’s stats for Lyon.
Fofana’s versatility to play on either flank would add balance, allowing Grealish to roam centrally as a playmaker, while Barry anchors the attack as a target man.
This trio could transform Everton’s one-paced attack, with Fofana’s directness and Grealish’s guile creating chances for Barry, addressing the team’s low goal output and boosting their prospects at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
