Birth place: Akron, United States of America

The collaboration was announced at the Made by Google event, where Curry was introduced as a 'performance advisor' for Google’s Health, Pixel, and Cloud divisions.

One of Curry’s key responsibilities will be advising Fitbit’s new Gemini-powered personal health coach, a chatbot designed to generate custom workout routines and performance targets for users. Google says Curry will contribute “coaching methods and philosophies” drawn from his career to improve the experience.

“This hands-on work has already begun, with Stephen and his team of experts working with our health experts and product and AI engineers to test our new products and experiences, giving us incredibly valuable feedback,” said RickOsterloh, Google’s head of platforms and devices.

“Stephen’s elite insights and our AI technology aren’t just for sports — our work together will show how anyone can use these products and features to maintain a healthier lifestyle and get more done.”

As part of the deal, Curry and his team will use Google’s full hardware ecosystem, including Pixel phones, smartwatches, and earbuds. He is also weaving Google Cloud’s AI Basketball Coach into his youth training programs — a tool that analyzes shooting form and provides personalized tips, marketed with the tagline that it can “perfect your jump shot.”

While Curry himself has little need for jump-shot coaching — boasting a career 42% three-point shooting average — his endorsement adds star power to Google’s AI-driven sports tools.

The partnership is expected to produce branded content, but the real measure will be whether Curry’s influence shapes meaningful product enhancements for consumers.
