New Details Emerge About Arrest Of Jaylen Brown’s Father

More details have emerged about the arrest on attempted murder charges of Marselles Brown, father of Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown.

The elder Brown allegedly stabbed a man in the stomach in a Las Vegas parking lot on Wednesday night during an altercation.

KSNV NBC Las Vegas released a report on Thursday detailing both the alleged altercation and providing details on the elder Brown’s arrest status.

“Jail records show Quenton M. Brown, 57, was booked sometime Thursday morning on suspicion of attempted murder,” the report read. “His first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday afternoon. … He had a prior arrest by Henderson Police back in 2016 on suspicion of battery resulting in substantial bodily harm. Bail has been set at $300K. If bail is made, Brown must wear an ankle monitor.”

“An arrest report obtained by News 3 states that witnesses told police the altercation started because of a “door ding,” The girlfriend of the man who was stabbed said they were sitting in the parking lot when an SUV parked next to them and someone came out of the passenger side.”

“The passenger door of the SUV hit the driver’s side door, and the woman said her boyfriend got out to check for damage,” the report continued. “The other man in the SUV was immediately confrontational, said “it was just a bump” and called the boyfriend a “b**** a**,” the woman told police. Her boyfriend slapped a side mirror on the SUV in response, and the man asked “if he wanted to go,” to which the boyfriend said yes.”

“After the boyfriend turned his back, the man from the SUV “briskly walked after him while producing [an] unknown object from his right side,” the girlfriend said. The man “swung his arm in a straight stabbing motion and struck [the boyfriend] in his back.” The man from the SUV then hit him several times in the stomach, and the boyfriend tried to fight back. He ran back to the girlfriend’s car, and they drove away to a pharmacy near Fort Apache Road and Sahara Avenue to wait for an ambulance.”

The victim is reportedly in critical condition.

Per KSNV NBC Las Vegas’ report, “doctors told LVMPD that the man suffered stab wounds to his back, upper right clavicle area, and left hand, plus a broken right rib that might need surgery.”

The report also described how Las Vegas police apprehended Marselles Brown.

“Police got a vehicle description and partial plate, and they stopped a matching SUV on southbound U.S. 95 near Decatur Boulevard,” the report read. “They found Brown sitting in a passenger seat, and he had abrasions on his knees and was bleeding from his face. “He spontaneously uttered that this was all over a door ding without being asked any questions by Patrol officers,” the report states. Brown was taken to UMC, where he declined to be interviewed. Crime scene investigators seized Brown’s clothing, which had blood on it, but LMVPD wrote that they could not find the knife.”
