NFL fans have been very critical of the leagues officiating over the years. Many have called the referees very bad at the job and even worse, rigging games for the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes.

Head referee Shawn Hochulli reviews a play that Bills head coach Sean McDermott challenged during the second half of the Bills divisional game against Kansas City Chiefs at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park on Jan. 21, 2024. The Bills won the challenge and took possession of the ball.

Well, on Thursday, there was a viral video going around about the NFL saying that sportsmanship will be a point of emphasis for NFL officials this season. Flags will be thrown. This video was sent to teams in the league. Troy Vincent said,

“There’s no place in the game to be standing over your opponent. There’s no place in the game to have violent gestures. That’s not the game of football.”

Well, it is nice that the NFL is talking about this. However, are they gaslighting the fans of this sport with this part of officiating rather than talking about the other issues that they don’t get right during football games? This will not make fans happy.
