Leeds United are off to a flying start in the Premier League season, after recording a shock win over Everton on Monday night. The Whites now have the daunting task of facing Arsenal this weekend.

Mikel Arteta’s side also won their league opener away to Manchester United. Ahead of the game, there have been interesting talking points from both managers. Arteta says he has been ”watching” Leeds and has been impressed with what he saw. Daniel Farke on the other hand, has warned that his side will not back down at the Emirates.

Leeds have been credited with interest in Leicester City star Bilal El Khannouss. The Whites were one of the first clubs to approach the Foxes over a potential move. But since then they have moved to the background while clubs like Spurs and Crystal Palace take the driver’s seat.

Alex Crook, who has been following the transfer saga closely, has suggested that a move to Leeds is a better option for the 21-year old.

“There’s also a lot of competition for El Khannouss, for example. We know that Leeds are at the table.” he said on talkSport.

“Who knows, he might see that as a more attractive option at this moment in time to Tottenham. They may be looking at El Khannouss, having missed out on Eze and Morgan Gibbs-White.”

Nothing has been confirmed yet, and the move is still the balance.

What Leicester City boss has said about transfer

According to Foxes boss Marti Cifuentes this week, El Khannouss is still a Leicester City player.

“That’s the reality, at this stage of the window especially. It’s 10 days left and I assume there’s going to be a lot of speculation.

“The reality is that Bilal is with us and he’s a very good player. It’s normal, this speculation, and I will not comment much on that.”

Crystal Palace are still in advanced talks to sign the playmaker, but Leeds can still swoop in and hijack the transfer deal.
