Newcastle United are 'braced' for a fresh bid from Liverpool for Alexander Isak over the coming weeks.
The Magpies have already rejected a massive bid of over £100m from the Reds for the Swedish striker, who has made it clear that he will not play for the Tyneside club again.
Isak took to social media to vent his frustration over his failed move to Liverpool and blamed the club for breaking promises.
Newcastle came up with a strong riposte, insisting that “no commitment has ever been made” to let the striker leave this summer.
Isak situation needs to be resolved

The 25-year-old has contributed with 62 goals and 11 assists in 109 appearances for Newcastle since joining them in 2022, and the Magpies value him at around £150m.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, the Reds are preparing to return with a new bid for Isak, but the Magpies continue to insist that they have no plans to sell him before the deadline day.
Liverpool have spent over £300m on eight new players this summer, but they still need more players, especially in the attacking areas, as well as in defence.
It has been reported that the Reds will consider alternatives to Isak if they cannot reach an agreement with the Magpies in the coming days.
Since their opening bid was rejected, Liverpool have not made any move for the striker, and they are probably waiting for the right time to come up with another mega bid that their rivals will not be able to refuse.
Newcastle looking at replacement but with no luck
Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe on March 10, 2025
It has been a tough window for the Magpies, who missed out on Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike, and Benjamin Sesko to their Premier League rivals.
Howe has not spoken to Isak since his bombshell post, and admitted that the Magpies are in ‘a lose-lose situation to a degree' where the player will either leave or stay against his wishes.
Newcastle have been linked with a move for Jorgen Strand Larsen, but Wolverhampton Wanderers are reluctant to let him go this summer.
Journalist Craig Hope claims that the Magpies are waiting for the progress of Yoane Wissa, and they want an answer from Brentford quickly.
