Who will replace departing Eze? Predicted Crystal Palace XI vs. Nottingham Forest

Crystal Palace will start planning for life without Eberechi Eze when they welcome Nottingham Forest to Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Sunday.

Eze withdrew from the squad that beat Fredrikstad 1-0 in the Conference League on Thursday night, as a move to Arsenal edges ever closer, so youngster Justin Devenny took his place in a strong Palace XI named by Oliver Glasner.

Jean-Philippe Mateta netted the only goal on Thursday, and he should be joined in attack by Devenny, as well as Ismaila Sarr, who has contributed to seven goals in his last eight Premier League matches.

While Eze is on his way out, Marc Guehi continues to turn out for the Eagles, despite rumoured interest from Liverpool, and he is set to line up alongside Chris Richards again in defence, after the American was replaced by Jefferson Lerma for the European encounter in midweek.

Lerma may well drop to the bench, unless Glasner opts to move him into midfield, but it is more likely that Will Hughes will get the nod to partner Adam Wharton in the engine room, with Daichi Kamada still not fully fit.

There was just one other alteration on Thursday, and that saw Borna Sosa make his full debut at left wing-back, but regular starter Tyrick Mitchell is in line to retake his place in the Premier League XI this weekend.

Elsewhere on the injury list, Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure will not return from long-term setbacks until October at the earliest, while Eddie Nketiah is facing at least eight weeks on the sidelines with a thigh problem.

Crystal Palace possible starting lineup:

Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Wharton, Hughes, Mitchell; Sarr, Mateta, Devenny
