Liverpool have had reports in Brazil linking them to an 18-year-old talent, while Friday’s news also brought updates on two headline transfer targets.
Today’s Main LFC Headline
According to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, a well-respected source in the region, Liverpool made an enquiry for Fluminense’s 18-year-old attacking midfielder Isaque Severino Silva.
They report that Liverpool, along with Man City and Shakhtar Donetsk, made an enquiry, but only the latter turned it into an official offer of £6 million, which has subsequently been rejected.
Silva has 12 appearances for Fluminense and recently signed a contract until 2029, with the highly-rated young Brazilian considered a “gem” by those at his club.
It is market Liverpool should be seeking to explore to supplement their youth and senior ranks – our success with Brazilians has been pretty impressive in recent years!

Liverpool FC: On this day
Liverpool made history on this day in 1964, when they hosted Arsenal at Anfield to become the first game to be broadcast on Match of the Day.
The Reds finished the 1963/64 season as First Division champions, 12 points and seven places above the Gunners.
Their title defence began at home to Billy Wright’s Arsenal side, and it was a historic afternoon as Match of the Day was broadcast by the BBC for the first time, in black and white.
In the BBC’s first edition of the show, this was the only game to be broadcast, with extended highlights offered to viewers.
It eventually began to broadcast highlights from a variety of games across the First Division and remains that way to this day across each league weekend.
